Founded in September 1958, Jilin Province South Lake Hotel is a state guesthouse of Jilin Province as well as a national-level five-star hotel. It opened to business on October 3, 1960. It is a hotel for important political and administrative activities, foreign affairs activities, business activities, and tourist leisure in Jilin Province. It is affiliated to the Jilin Province Institutional Affairs Administration.
South Lake Hotel is located at 3798 South Lake Road at the beautiful South Lake in Changchun. It is seven kilometers from the railway station and 40 kilometers from the airport. It covers 860000 square meters, and its construction area is 120000 square meters. 86% of the hotel is covered with lush trees and grass, where more than one million trees of about 100 species are growing lushly.
The hotel’s towering Main Building and the small buildings of varied styles in Chinese and western architectural features plus the main roads set off one another with a scene around each corner surrounded by green trees and dark shades where birds are flying and chirping. Take a bird’s eye view, and you will see the 50000-square-meter water surfaces rippling with fishes playing underneath. The Center Island is decorated with dancing willows. And greenbelts, like flying ribbon, embrace the lake waters and the constructions. The buildings, platforms, kiosks and pagodas with classic garden-park features are half-hidden in the woods, where winding paths lead to secluded quiet places of poetic and picturesque illusions of harmony between humans and nature.
